AUTOCLAVING PROCEDURES
SST-835 & SST-134

The following Do's and Don'ts were developed to help ensure the best product performance when using highest temperatures to clean the above items.

 DO:

1. These products can be gas autoclaved, ultrasonically cleaned, steam autoclaved (max. 275°F), washer decontaminator, washer sterilizer (max. 275° F), soak, etc.

2.  They can work with all soaking solutions, including Vesta Syde.

3.  Position trays for autoclaving upside down so distortion on the rim will not occur.  (This does not include the drain trays with instruments.) We recommend the cover be autoclaved upright in a vertical position.

4.      Test run one item before implementing entire system.

DON'T:

1. Do not exceed 275° F when autoclaving or washer sterilizing.

2.  Do not nest products during autoclaving.

3.     Do not jam products in autoclave.

These products are manufactured of a lightweight durable autoclavable plastic. This material by nature is a non-rigid form and some distortion due to high heat (typically in excess of 275° F) may occur. Plastic also has a memory and many times a warping (distortion) problem can be rectified by trying the following suggestion:

Rerun the trays lying flat and put even weight on all parts. After it returns to usable shape, follow the above procedures in handling.
